Bristle or coating removal discs?
I'm in the process of removing paint (Factory coat & secondary re-paint) to bare metal on my project. My random orbit sander will surely wear out before all the paint is gone...
Can I safely take the majority of paint off with a bristle disc or 3M coating removal disc on my 4 1/2" grinder then finish up with the orbital? The repaint (Color & high build primer??) is really thick and much softer than the factory coat.

Yup..just quit with the grinder before you eat any metal and use your DA to finish up..I use a 7" grinder..a 41/2' grinder and a die grinder with 2" rolocs for paint removal..gets just about every where with just a small bit left for the sandblaster..
