broke shock bolt

When I bought the truck it was already broke. Its lowered too.
I've tried to drill it out but that heavy duty steel keeps breaking the bits.
its like a 1/2 inch bolt. Should I just drill a hole in another location so I could place the shock there? Cause that thing IS IN THERE!!

Any input is greatly appreciated.

If you can get in there to weld a nut to the stud, Add a little heat spray it with some lube... And back it out....I would do what ever it takes to get it out.... Post a picture and we just may have another idea for you..

Get a decent drill bit

They make drills that will drill that bolt, not to costly either, Those bits that come in a little case are usually junk. Go to a local machine shop and ask them what drill to use they know

I'd take a nut from the same size bolt and hold it over the stub, then weld the inside to the stub. Before it totally cools put a socket on it and it will likely come out.
