I have a connector that hangs down on the drivers side near the transfer case. It's 2 conductor and has light blue and light blue with black stripe wires but i cant figure out where they are supposed to go ... any ideas? thanks

Im smart enough to figure that out. My problem is that the answer to that question is nothing...... nothing doesn't work. everything seems fine(except for a loss of power and bad gas milage). and i looked everywhere under the car and i cant figure out where this plug should go.

also my abs light comes on a lot...but that seems more like a loose wire. sometimes its fine for days.. and some times it goes on and off

the lights do come on in 4 wheel drive. The motor and tranny are both 1987 stock. It is an automatic though. After you said that though ... I wonder if its a sensor for manual trannys. I'm going to double check my reverse lights but i think they work.

it wasnt the revers lights...the connection for the seat belt is hooked in and the nuetral saftey works fine. It has to be for the manual tranny

Likely it's a wire for something that was never installed in your truck, the factory puts full harnesses in even if the truck doesn't have all the accessories. Have you tried a voltmeter to see if it is getting power?

I checked that also. It is an 87 xlt with every option that was available. Right down to the inflate seats, cruise control, 4x4, power windows and locks
