Bucket Seats meets console

I have a '55 Chevy 210 that I can run with either the re-upholstered stock bench seat or with a pair of re-upholstered leather Recaro adjustable buckets. Cost-wise, it's a wash.

Shifter ain't no thang as it's already on the column.

I like the buckets but if used will require a console to fill the seat gap. So where can I find a usable pattern or OEM console that can be made to fit without a lot of problemos? gracias

I put TBird buckets in my '72 El Camino and later put an '82-'92 Camaro console between them. I wanted a place for gauges. Worked out pretty good. there are pics in my project journal.

A console can be easily fabricated from MDF (medium density fiberboard). Just don't make it so big that it dominates the interior.

That's what I would do. Get some instructions on fabbing up a console with some MDF and 'glass and go for a custom console. The designs are endless as to what you can do. Anything from mild to wild.

Well I can tell ya for a fact a console like out of a '60s Vette will fit between two bucket seats like those out of a '60 Impala or GTO in a '57 Hardtop.

Cause I've got this very set up in my very first car. A BelAir 2-door Hardtop.

You can also build a console and upholster it or have it upholstered if you don't want to do glass work.
