Budget muffler recommendation

Hi Folks,
I just wanted to give you all a recommendation for cheap mufflers. I scored a set of Flowtech Raptor mufflers, 2.5 in/out, based on the recommendation from the guy behind the counter. They went behind my warmed over 350 SBC in my '81 Malibu and sound great, a healthy but mellow bumpity-bump at idle and moderately quiet at cruise.

The best part? Total cost of these "quality" mufflers was $38! So I ending up building my budget exhaust system for a grand total of $70 including the reducers, 8 feet of pipe, and turndown tips exiting under the rear axle.

Cheers,
Andy

what would the pn be for late model camaro style mufflers like that? Magnaflow sells for about 80, same as flowmaster. Yes camaro mufflers work on GAs, quite nicely too.

Thrush turbos are wicked cheap and sound pretty good on a small block. My friends dad has an 85' chevy 1/2 ton pickup with Thrush turbos on it. Just like the raptor but cheaper. $20 each. There's nothing to them. Double wrapped case, spun locked heads and perforated tubes inside. They flow good and sound pretty goog.
