Budgeting a brake booster

I told you all about the whistleing booster; which is a brand new unit(autozone sucks ) New units vary from $120-$200. My buddy is parting out a 75 Caprice(blown motor)(and yes...I'm keeping the 400 sb for a future project ) His brakes worked fine though. I know he has drum brakes and his booster is smaller and I was wondering if I can swap them and what the effects would be. Would the booster not be adequate for the 4 disc system? Or would the performance just not be as good?

Booster

I would think as booster size goes down force for pushing the brakes will go up. I'd just try it, brake pedal pressure is still going to be less than a non-boosted manual brake. See how strong your leg is.
