Buffing

How much do you guys normally charge to buff a suv ? The color is maroon (2003 ) light scratches and swirls ( no wetsanding ) . Approx. 4-6 hrs work ? Any advice appreciated, Thanks.

The only time I wet sand a car is to get out runs in the clear or smooth out orange peel in the clear. Wet sanding it now will not really get you the results you want. To get ride of the scratches you can buff those out with a compound and there also have a swirl remover that you can use. It can be used like a wax or buffed. You could probably find both of those at you local parts store and do it your self.

Estimate a total time and go based on an per hour basis and then add material cost (plus any up charge). Are you going down to a wool pad and Rubbing Compound, and then step back through with a foam pad and Swirl Mark Remover and finish with 3M Ultrafina SE. A quart of each of those will set you back about $30 to $70.

I am reffering to the 3M buffing sequence, see my earlier post.
