buffing harley tank

I have a 06 harley i want to buff the gas tank. I know theres probably not a lot of clear on it. What product would you recommend? I ve used maguires really like it i just dont want to burn through the clear and end up repainting the whole thing, it just has some light scratches probably from washing it. Thanks

harley usually puts quite a bit of paint on their stuff. its not like todays autos. i can tell you that their paint is also hard as a friggin rock. you might just want to stick with compounding and polishing. if the scratches are too deep fro that then slowly wetsand the area with 2000 or 2500 and goto buff. as far as compounds go i like the 3m perfect it 2 or presta ultra cut creme. i haven't used anything else. polishes i like 3m foam pad glaze or the presta stuff.
