cart

I built mine out of 1"x1' sq tubing with a upper shelve for the welder and lower shelve for holding extra roll of wire and tools, the shelves are made of expanded metal so dust a dirt fall straight thru instead of accumalating I also put a platform on the rear to hold bottle with a chain to hold it in place and on the sides I puta 1/2" round bar to hang clamps on works great mike

you can check out the Miller site, welding projects and see some carts built by the hobbyist and pros for some suggestions .. Another idea buy a cart 50 too 100 and modify it for your needs, like adding wheels that will actually roll over crap on the garage floor, and adding a chain to hold the gass tank on the cart .. little convenience items ..

Why reinvent the wheel, building a little common item like a welding cart could and most likely cost more in the end, not to mention the time wasted solving fitting up problems ... the industry has already done the homework on this, now just like a hotrod buy something close and make it your own..

mig cart

Use the biggest casters you can- it will be much easier to move around- small
casters hang up on everything- ask me how I know! Good luck with the new
toy. Jim

Harbor Freight $49.00, hardly worth trying to make one IMHO.

This is the best advice I've heard yet, that is unless you like building stuff in the first place,If thats one of the main reasons you got the welder then go to HF and copy theirs, you'll get some welding practice to boot.welcome to the world of fabrication, good luck

I bought this cart from Boeing Surplus a couple of years ago for 25.00

Cut a hole in the top shelf to slide the tank into and there's plenty of room for extras.

I recently added the swing away gun holder - I got tired of always having to pick the thing up off the floor ~ it's also nice to have someplace to put the thing when it's hot

is the shop i have the floor is still dirt so i don't

Dang - I can't take credit for the idea...I saw Jesse James slap one together for his Mig welder on a Motorcycle Mania installment...seemed like a good idea at the time - and it is!
