Buick 231 torque converter

Hi,I"m trying to find the right torque converter for my 85 Buick regal V6.I don't know if it's 10' or 12'.What should I be looking for.Do I get 2000 stall or 2500stall or what?? IT's only going to be for street use and with lockup to improve mileage.Does anyone know?

give us a clue to what transmission you are using.

What is the car used for? You mention street only... a daily driver?

Is the engine built up or stock?

Do you have the trans out now? Why?

Does the trans need a rebuild too?

231 torque converter

Hi I pretty sure it's a hydra-matic 200 or 250.I want the car to be a weekend driver enough power to burn some rubber if I wanted too.The 3.8 v6 has a bigger cam and new intake with a 4 bbl carb instead of a 2bbl.I also put headers in.Long story short the motor is seized and since I'm changing the pistons now with the rebuild I wanted to spruce up the rear end.Does that sound OK?

Better figure out which transmission you have.... the t-200, t-200C and t-250C require different converter design.

have fun.
