* build pics * two lane blacktop 55 / American Graffiti 55 car

two lane blacktop 55 & American Graffiti 55 same car

its a Friends build in progress

sorry pics not in order.

kinda a neat project I thought I would show everyone. he bought it wearing the blue and white colors with a 10bolt rear w/posi outa a 79 T/A, the front end was all fresh and new. it came with a glass and steel front clip. he set it up for a BBC and a T10 4 speed w/ a lakewood scatter sheild and hes installed the the pedals and then built the fender well headers b4 pulling body off frame, body's been on the rotarie for around 2yrs now. on the rotarie he put new floors in and a new trunk floor and sealed and primed both sides of the floors. he built the 9" rear with moser 35 spline axles and a moser center chunk w/ 35 spline nodular case w/detroit locker and 488 gears & brakes off a 70s Lincoln. hes got a cross ram 2x4s intake plus a tunnel ram 2x4s intake and a couple single 4 intakes and a completely reconditioned V Gate shifter. every thing will be period correct looking a build like this done in early to mid 70s.

as you can see in some of the pics the body was test fitted on frame but its now back hanging on rotarie.

*update*
he just bought some canfield heads. he has body on frame for good, frame is complete now and brake lines and fuel lines are run. sterring colun has been test fitted. body is all done in primer ready for a wet sand and color. he has several sets of all sizes. anson, fenton 15x14s 15x12s 15x10s 15x8s 15x6s 15x3 1/2s plus some 70s torq thrusts.

Enjoy

It looks great, no doubts about it and it`s coming along nicely. Nothing like seeing that big block under the hood and the nostalgia of it all.
Even so I`ve never seen but parts of that movie, I know the car, I think every hot rodder does.

It's looking awsome. But I have to say, he has to loose the wheels and install chrome reverse rims. If he doesn't he won't have a "Graffitti" car but "just" a black 55 with radiused wheel wells. But that's just one mans opinion.

Yeah put them in a box and I'll lose them in the mountains of WVa far away from that 55 (I'll find a use for them) Look good either way, What year did the Ansen Sprints come out?
