Build Thread Layout: Difficult to search and read

I always enjoy following build threads, seeing what others are doing and how they are progressing on their builds. I also like posting updates on my project. But I find the whole layout of the Build Threads section very difficult to search and follow.

I think it would be better if the Build Threads followed a general forum posting format. You start a thread on your build, and it stays a thread in the general forum. Each time you post an update, your thread gets bumped back up to the first page of the forum. Those who haven't updated in a while will of course find their build thread sink to the back pages (sometimes an encouragement to update!)

This format works great on websites like The H.A.M.B. ("traditional" hot rods and customs) and The Samba (VW's) so why not here?

Oh in case I wasn't clear I was refering to the "Hotrodders Project Journal" section ..

It also seems that each user can only have one journal, regardless of how many varied projects they have? I would think it would be better if userX could post a thread on their prostreet Mini Cooper, and post a seperate thread on their concours Hemi Cuda.

And having them ranked by who has the biggest post doesn't seem necessarily helpful either.

I tend to agree with you on this...

BTW, nothing is stopping you from starting a build thread in the Lounge. I would like to see a section just for builds and certain types of builds ( like the 55-59 Chevy truck thread or the Streetbeasts thread). That would keep all that type of stuff in one section.
