building 400 sbc
I have a stock 76 400 sbc in good running condition,i want to pu it in my 69 Acadian,it has a t350 trans with 308 gears, i want to put 3973370 64cc heads on it with a adelbrock intake & 650 edelbrock carb, these heads are the same as 186 heads.i won,t rev the motor over 4500, it,s a driver not a race car,the heads are stock with 194 150 valves. what compression will the motor be,it had 76cc heads.what is a good cam for this motor,im looking for decent milage for a driver. the original 307 2bbl gets about 17 mpg hwy. if i could get the same with more power that would be a bonus,it has duel exhaust also.all info appreciated,Im not touching the short block other than new oil pump ,double roller chain & gear & lifters. cam?:)

Without knowing the dish size of the piston and the piston deck clearance (how far the piston is down the hole at TDC), there's no way to say w/any real amount of accuracy.
That said, if the dish is 24cc and the quench is 0.040", the CR will be about 9.5:1 w/stock bore and stroke and a 64cc chamber volume.

orig it is 8.5 to 1 in 1976 with 76cc 882 heads.
