Building a blown 468 bbc [ questions]

I am building a BBC Blower motor for my Anglia , I had the block bored 60 over making it a 468 ci, with flat top 8.5 CR forged pistons,, I am trying to narrow the choice of cams down,, and have been considering the Comp cams nitrus HP cams,,[ Full Roller hydraulic ] there are a couple of different grinds available, # 1 is the Part # CCA-11-414-8 with a intake duration of 242 and ex duration of 254, at .50 and lift of intake 566 int.575 ex.rpm range from 2400 to 6500 and #2 comp ,#CCA-11-411-8 duration int. 279 ex dur 294 lift int.537 ex 541, perf. range is 2000 to 6500 rpm,,,, both have a 113* lobe sep. just 400 RPM differance on performance rpm,, maybe someone has a better ideaa for a cam,, I would prefer it be a roller,,,
So what do some of you engine builders think would be best for street duty,, with maybe a blast on the strip ocasionally,, the car will probably weigh around 2000 #??? the blower is a B&M 425 mega charger,, with probably 6--9 # boost ,,, The heads are REC port open chamber cast iron, GM,, and the valves will all be new ,, with normal porting ANY IDEAS??? Crower makes several blower specific grinds.... BDS has their own specific cams as well. Im running a Crower cam designed for SBC for up to 10lbs boost 2500-6500RPM range and I love it. I was considering the Nitrous HP cams as well, but figured why not go with something designed for the intended purpose...? Eventually I plan on spraying, but mostly for the intercooling effect NOS has.

Thanks auto nuerotic,, I will look into the suggestion,, I know there are blower spefic cams,, but I think the Comp cams [ listed] are considered blower spec also,, I am a little concerned about the heat also,, but will just have to deal with that if it pops up,, i have a custom built ron davis radiator, What are the specs on the cowler that you are using? I had a SBC with this B%M on it with a B&M blower cam,, and it had exactly the same specs as the edelbrock Performer RPM cam,, it worked great,,Thanks,, Bill

Call Comp they will grind you a cam to your liking for $75 more thell them your set up

Thanks Pro,,, good idea,, I build street rods ,, but engines are definately NOT my strong point,, I do know that I want a roller, and a pretty radical grind, but not to the point that I can't drive it on the street,, so the more ideas the better ,,, A blown BBC in a Anglia is a bit of overkill on power,, but isn't that what hotrods are all about?? Engle Racing Cams, does a GREAT job on blower cams. I had them grind the one in my blown small block (I went with a solid flat tappet). They were recommended to me by Don Hampton of Hampton blowers. If you give them a call talk to Mark Engle, he will ask what you are looking to do and not try to talk you inot something you don't want. We discussed my engine and goals, I told him exactly what I was looking for and he hit the nail on the head. I wouldn't change anything about the cam. Their contact number is (310) 450-0806

Sorry about the late response. I will look for the cam card, but I think its ground on 114 degree centers, lift is in the .460 range...my memory isn't serving me too well. I bought it from summit racing just type in Crower supercharger cams or blower cams and they will pop up. Ill look for the card and post the specs. I made the decision to run this cam because I wouldn't be running more than 10psi, especially on the street. 10psi will give just about anything a real kick in the pants., they do offer a cam for 12psi +, but I didn't think as a daily driver that too much boost would be any fun...well at least at the gas station. Ive found for overall drivability and mpg ( I like to go places ) 5-7 psi fits the bill and it takes all but about 2 minutes to switch to 10psi and adjust my MSD BTM.

Well I went with the comp 414 pro magnum nitrus cam,, along with the comp roller lifters,, I decided to use the stock oval port 781 heads, after reading a article about the flow rates compared to the rect port heads,, seems the oval port heads out flow the rect ports quite a bit after a little porting work, mush more suitable for street use,[ and MUCH less expensive] up to the 7K rpm range. I can always up grade to the rect, heads later,, save a few bucks for now anyway,,, I'll find the article and post it,,,,,,some good infromation,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, thanks for all the suggestions,, Bill
