Building a Foam Seat?

Does anyone know of any web sites that show you how to construct afoam seat from scratch? I've tried Going to UTube but come up with nothing. Their's a lot of stuff out there about making covers - but hardley anything about recreating a foam cushion.

Try ordering Sid Chavers DVD on seats. It shows in great detail how to construct a seat from scratch. You can order directly through him. His website is www.sidchaverscompany.com

What kind of a seat are you trying to make? Bench? Bucket?

Something like the 60/40 bench seat in my 1996 Grand Marquis.

There are a few ways to do it. It is next to impossible to cut seat foam out of one large piece because you would need a huge knife to cut it with. One way is to start with a flat slab of foam and glue pieces onto the slab to make the shape you want. Another way is to cut 6" pieces of foam to the right shape and glue the pieces together. The first method would be better for a bench seat, and the second way would be better for a bucket seat.
