Bulb Numbers

I read a thread the other day about what bulb replaces an 1157 that is brighter on the brake and turn signal and now I cant find it!!
Could someone please tell me what that number is and any other numbers that would replace older numbers with brighter and more durable bulbs.
THANKS MUCH!!!!

the bright bulbs are dual fillament and generate a lot of heat. I'll suggest the replacement LED bulbs, that fit in place of regulars. there made for 1156's and 1157's and are available thru speedway, and so are the brite bulbs.

Bulb Numbers

Thanks for the info on LEDs but what I am looking for is that number which replaces the 1157. The tail light filiment is the same as the 1157 but the brake light filiment is supposed to be noticeably brighter. Also, if there are otherbrighter and more durable replacements for other numbers such as which is brighter, a 194 or a 168--- which has more candlepower. Any information or a chart or something would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS AGAIN!!!!!
