Bump steer on this one?
Have a look at this photo:
The bowl in the steering rack link is not on the red line. It is approximently on the outside on the red line.
Is this way out of how it should be or would you consider it close enough to be acceptable?
One way to make it better would simply be to raise the steering rack a little, however it's not enough space to raise it enough to make the bowl be exact on the red line.
Is the rack in the photo at the end of it's travel? The rod end looks really close to the rack case.
Usually you look at the front end geometry with all of the components set in a straight ahead position. That rack looks like it is at the extreme end of its travel. Do you have a full on front picture? If everything is set up in the straight ahead position in that pic I'd say you are close enough. But it doesn't look like you will have alot of turning capability.
Speedway motors has a gauge set you can buy to check your bumpsteer for sure. One look at it and you will be able to make your own and figure out how to use it. ( i remember you are a tool and die maker :thumbup: )

As I think about it a little more, I'd want to check your setup with some kind of gauge as the length of the tie rod and relative position of the steering arm has a little something to do with the bumpsteer also. And not seeing where the steering arm end is, I would have to say my previous answer of "close enough" needs to be disregarded.
in other words, the inner tie rod positions on the "red line" will be relative to where the outer tie rod end/ steering arm lands in relation to where the line drawn between the ball joints on the spindle.
If the steering arm is inboard of the ball joint line, then the inner tie rod end will be inboard about the same amount,with compensation for the outward lean of your "red line" . .
Did you buy the front end or make it yourself, or modify it somehow?
It is a Fat Man Stage III suspension mounted according to all specs.
I just thought I would check the bump steer for myself and was a little worried, but probably is it taken care of with the steering arm as you say.
If it is an unmodified Fatman I'd run it.

Well, lots of people on this board has strong opinions about Fat Man Fab and I don't want to make an "anti-Fat-Man-thread".
On the other hand, a couple of details on the kit didn't match up as they were supposed to, I called them and they didn't have precise answers to me, so I just wanted to find out for myself if the kit was good.
