bumper repairs
hi, I am just starting out and I would like to know how to repair and paint a scratch on a plastic bumper, including what grade papers to use etc.

hope you can help

You can use the same materials as with a regular sheet metal repair.
Rough with 180, and fill with a 2 part glazing putty.
sand again with 180 and feather with 320..
a 2 part primer then sand as usual with 400
blend in some color, then clear complete.
wait 18 hours ...detail any nibs/peel with 2000 then polish

take your time, keep it fun...

bumper repairs
hi again,
why 2 part primer and why clear

A two part primer is the safe way to avoid reactions with paint edges. Clear coat is what "seals" the deal and protects the repair and produces the gloss...

Heres a thread with a bumper repair in it
