Buncha jerks at Fbody.com
geeeeeze did I get a crap welcome from Fbody.com!!! I post a question about an aftermarket gauge cluster for my firebird (Second gen car) and tell them about what I did to it etc. Immediately this guy says: "You ********* why don't you buy a camaro if you want to drive around with a chevy motor." Some other guy chimes in and says "yeah, putting that chevy motor in your pontiac dropped the value to zero man." WTF? So I write them back and explain "did you guys miss the part where the car (vin code "U" for engine if you don't believe me) came with a 305 stock? Do you people know that's a chevy motor? GOod lord!
It all went downhill from there... what a bunch of jerks! ANyway, here's a question for anybody who knows first/second gen fbody cars: if a car had a vin code that said its originally a chevy motor car, would it be worth MORE if you took it out and put a pontiac motor in it? Unless you're staying ALL factory original on a car, does it really matter what motor you put in it?! At least with my 388 I can lie and say its the original 305 with a cam and some bolt ons... lol. Made me appreciate this site!! Oh btw, I went to one of the guy's webpages and he's got a bunch of clapped out pontiacs... and a second gen with a 305. LOL. deuche bags!! K |

You're right, I'm sure my question about aftermarket gauge clusters really cheesed somebody off. Why don't you go to the site and read the thread.

Most of the guys there are ok, I just had a problem with a couple of them... talk about no class. Cut into somebody's ride before you even know what their name is lol. Never did get an answer ot my question after 17 posts either!! Some other guy called me a retard because I wouldn't give him an exact number on valve clearance because he wanted run like a 550 lift cam and 1.6 rockers on a stock 305... lmfao! Take the damned head off and measure it if you want a number that bad! talk about a ****** bag. This site sure is a lot more refined than a lot of other sites around. There is gobs more knowledge and experience around here too. Best site on the web- K |

Well kind of agree with them from what you said.
If it's an olds, I want an olds engine and olds parts in it. Pontiac, pontiac, buick, buick. Hate when people go mixing a matching crap on cars that might have some value. Thats why my 87 will recieve an "Oldsmobile" motor. Chevy and Ford dont count, they have no value as is

lol, I'm not spending a fortune on a new trans, mounts, and motor not to mention all the fabrication involved just so I can switch an original chevy motor car to a pontiac engine. Its silly that they did it from the factory, but hey, that's the way it iz--

LMFAO! I just went over to f-body.com to check this thread out. First off i think this "dan" is a total deuche. My thoughts are maybe he is jealous that you have a running/nice forumula and he has 6 if not more non running trans-am/firbirds and what not. LOL. And where as yours has a nice 388 stroker his has the all mighty 305 HAHAHAHA. Man i should sign up and ask them wha ti need to do to drop a ford 302 in my transam(i know its trolling but i would be funny).

You should build the car the way you want it.
Old time hotrodders werent thinking about resale value. Makes me want to puke everytime i hear but that hurts the resale value.TOO BAD! |

#1 I doubt that an 87 Oldsmobile is going to be that high in value....even the 442's can be bought up cheap. #2 You definately wouldn't like my truck(not that it is of any monetary value) but I have parts from ALOT of different cars/trucks on it. If you want to check it out, its in my photo journal. Later, WEIMER |
