Buying a "New Car"
its a 71 mercury grand marquis, with an original 429/4 barrel.
around 100k miles. all original, 80 percent good interior, faded baby blue paint power windows, a/c, hitch, inside cab air adjust shocks, and dissapearing headlights! only 1 dent, little rust, good glass, new tires. all this could be mine for only 500 bucks! yeah baby! what do you guys think about these land yachts? -justin http://www.bluemoongear.com/ArchCarP...isBrougham.jpg also if you can find pics of them tell me please! The motor in that is worth more than the $500 you wouild spend on it. I say jump on it. Either that or send it to me and I'll take it

Well, I bought it. It is in great shape. The worst problem was the way it ran. The plugs were so fouled that i am surprised it ran. The points were fried, and the cap and rotor were way bad.
I think that i will have a few pics up in my album by friday. I am in scottsdale,az right now. Nice and cloudy, surprising for scottsdale i hear... I can lay a patch of rubber with this like you dont even know! I measured 65 feet the last one, that was feathering the pedal. I will try and post a burnout video as well. Also, I may be quitting my job in the zone. I am not getting the hours i need. Looks like its U-Haul mechanic for me. I got hired as a mechanics supervisor. 9.50 an hour. I wil be starting as a mobile tire guy first cause the guy who normally does it is hurt. then I go to wreching on heavy gas and diesel moving trucks! Sounds like good hard working to me. I will be sure to post pics as soon as I am back in town. I will be enjoying my winter vacation here in scotttsdale for a few days. My dad lives here. Big ole house on a hill. And cactusus too.... -justin |

Justin,
We don't believe in street roddin around here. Good pics of the car, engine and upgrades will go wonders. I can't say for others but I am not impressed by the amount of rubber you leave behind but the care you give the car and what you do with it. If you need, find the closest legal drag strip and let us know under the safety rules what your ride accomplishes. By the way, nice ride! Dutch |
