c 6 trans ?

I got a.Trans for a 351W .?is will this bolt up to a 460 Ford or is bellhousing different? Not sire on these 385engines yet plan on building a 557.

As I recall the 351 M block is the same as the BB 460 engine, 351W uses small block style pattern

351W bolt pattern is different than the 460 bolt pattern.

The ribbed case C6 is preferred for strength but not absolutely necessary. Gotta be careful on sourcing from a truck or van. I believe they use a longer tailshaft than a passenger car C6. Lincoln's same deal.

Truck C6s with a slip yoke had 13-3/4" tails, same as most passenger cars.

I think it will be better to go with a powerglide over the C6 on the 86 notch with the 557.correct? got 4.30s. 9inch.33 spline? I was told when I brought thr car do they have 33 splines? I go 35's on my other 9inch. tires are 32 tall, ,thanks.
