Well sorry to tell you there is no free lunch when it comes to 11m band (c.b.) You could throw 1500w into some rinky antenna or some fad that uses the fm antenna and I would still get out better with a good wilson and 5w, while you dont need a 102' whip on the back, a good bottom loaded willson wilson 5000 is the ticket. They can be mounted with a trunk lip mount or a magnet mount but be warned either may mark up the finish . If I had to pick I would say a wilson 500 using a magnet mount on the trunk,(center of the roof would even be better but I understand) leave some slack in the line and remove it when not in use. A couple of other quick tips 1. tune the antenna or find some one who knows how (some one in a ham radio club could help) 2.DO NOT cut or coil the coax on the wilson. You should be able to find a wilson 5000 mag mount at most large truck stops or better yet online just make sure its for 10-11m band. Brian kc0kfg |

re: C.B. Radio help
I used to use a 24" top-loaded whip on a magnet mount just behind the windshield. It lived in the trunk when not in use. Worked pretty well, not as well as a full-sized antenna, but much better than when I tried it in the back seat with a small window-screen for a ground plane.

re: C.B. Radio help
Antenna makes all the difference when it comes to radio. I'd get a bottom loaded whip antenna which will get you out 8-10 mi depending on the conditions/terrain. The gutter mount antennas don't work as well but are more compact. I had a mobile moonraker on the trunk of my 79 which didn't look bad at all.

re: C.B. Radio help
They used to make an ant. that went in place of your stock one and ran both sets.
