A/C Compressor Identification Assistance

I hope this is the correct place for this post. I am trying to identify which models/years vehicles this compressor came in. The number on the compressor is U508S63. There is no other info on it. Not even a manufacturer name. Nothing. It is in my '38 Coupe and I think it is a GM compressor. I've searched the internet with no success. I hope someone on the forum has a better reference source or can point me in a direction to find some info.

Thanks
Willy

Thanks. You may be right because it is an old R12 type. Thats all I do know about it. It was installed many years ago and the car was given to me with very little info.

Sanden is a very popular Compressor, used in most Aftermarket, Street Rod etc.. A/C kits.
Net search for SD508 will probably show something.
Example >> SD508 - Bing Images Does this look like it?
