My ceiling is 8'8", and you stated before to mount it near the top. So the next questin is, would you mount it above my air compressor? I think there's enough room to do it, but would the compressor generate too much heat, and shut the a/c off too soon?

Mine will be used too. My dad can get them free (he has connections everywhere ). BTW, I'm sorry for blowing yours up.... LOL!

In a while, Chet.

If I had a unit, I would not hesitate to put it in the garage. Had plans for one in my last garage, but had to steal parts for the unit in the house.

Chet... I didn't think you needed AC in Wisconsin. You only have a month that there isn't snow on the ground. LOL

I do think I will install it in the garage when it comes time to finish the garage. I have to install 2 beams to support th roof, because I made the garage larger when I did the house addition. (If the garage was cleaner I would post some pictures but...)

I would install it, I have air in mine. Much more pleasant when the humidity is 85%, plus as mentioned you can keep the bugs out.

Cool your garage

Cooling a garage is very simple. Large window units are ineffeicent and can bring in outside air. I install a unit called mini-split. It is a small unit that mounts inside up on your wall and a condensing unit outside much like central air. The interior unit looks like a small unit used in motels. Look up Mini-Split on the internet. I hope you are as happy as I am.

this is cheap to do and a good idea on any attached garage you work in.
