In an effort to assure that no engine components from clunker cars are resold, It is required that the oil be drained and replaced with sodium silicate and the engine run till it stops . Spose they never heard of draining the oil and water and throwing a brick on the throttle.

Or selling them to us so we can use the more modern, high-efficiency parts on our older cars. I'd take a couple or three Vortec 350 roller motors off their hands, and sell my old clunky junk to an off-road user.

Result: less pollution & better gas mileage for me, and less scrap metal to have to melt (lots of energy needed to heat a 550# iron engine to its melting point of ~2800*F) and ship to Detroit or Asia.
