A/C swap 68 Chevelle - 73 Monte Carlo ???

I want to pull a factory AC unit from a 68 Chevelle,
and put it in my 73 Monte Carlo. Is it possible?
The monte's AC has long since been removed,
and all thats left is the evaporator core.
It looks identical to the unit in the Chevelle.
I appreciate any advise that y'all migh have on this.

This is not really a question for the interior forum, so I'm going to move your post to General Rodding Tech.

Usually the 68-72 A-body parts do not interchange with those from the 73-77 cars.

What exactly do you mean by "pull a factory AC unit from a 68 Chevelle"?

The GM compressor and brackets are probably the same (big, heavy A6), and the evaporator and condenser will be similar, but its hard to tell whether any other parts will fit in your car. The two years may also use a different type of pressure control mechanism ('73 is probably fixed orifice tube; not sure about a '68, but its probably a TXV).

It should be relatively easy to find a condenser, accumulator, compressor and hoses for your '68 from most parts stores. If you need a Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV), it may be a little harder to find a direct replacement.
