c4 problems

i have a 1979 f100 with 302/c4. had to replace pan gasket on tranny awhile back but i had to unbolt dip stick to get pan out. the dip stick goes in the side of the pan couldnt get it to budge or come out. i want to know if thats how it is or does it unscrew or pull out with seal. its now leaking again

1979 f150,

I am working on one of these myself.
The tube unscrews. Regular right hand threads.
It has a flare on the inside so be sure nothing gets in there when you put it back together. Also I find if you leave it a little loose aligning the attachment bolt is easier.
