C6 with ribs on bellhousing to top of case?
I have a 70 something C6 that has about 5 or 6 3/4 in or so tall ribs that run on top of the bell housing to the top of the case. is this just a stronger common C6 or is it something hard to find. just wondering so i know what to do with the thing, it wont fit my 4x4, it came with the 429 im putting in. 429s a 72 but it might not be original as the engine was not stock for vehicle.

It seems to me that the cases with the ribs were the big block cases. Can't say that for sure tho.

maybe the early ones then, i picked up a 4x4 C6 last night for the 429 and it dosent have them..... i dont get ford.

I believe the ribbed cases were from high-performance applications like the '69 or '70 429SCJ Mustang. Yes, they are a pain to fit some models because of the ribs. I'll bet that if you post your question on a Ford site you will get some interested buyers.
