c6 will it work?

i recently bought a 390 motor and a c6 transmission for $150 at a swap meet will the c6 mount to the 390 and if so what will i need to do accomplish it?

yes, it will fit, you just need the proper bellhousing and flexplate if the 390 doesn't already have one.

the c-6 bellhousing is part of the case., its not like a c-4 where its a bolt on... its got to be a 390 case., it'll be rounded at the top, and it'll have 3 holes for the starter. also, the converter will have a short pilot. different than most c-6 converters

Watch out for those FMXs, they put alot of them behind FE engines. C6s are two piece case, no removable bell housing. The FMX is a 3 piece case, removable bell housing center case and removable tailshaft case. The center case of a FMX should be cast iron. I also have seen a few C4's behind FE engines, but not many. They also have a three piece case but the center part is cast aluminum.
