Cad FWD swap Phase 1.

Here's the drivetrain, it has not been cleaned, that's how it came out of the car.

Now the "fun" begins.

I've gotta hand it to ya man..Pretty cool !What plans do you have for that engine or the Caddy that it came out of ??

Let's see..That's the 4.9L..I believe those were in the early 90's Cadillac's,right?I know that my dad had a 1990 Seville.I think that it was a 4.9L..It could've been a 4.5L..Who knows lol!?Those things sure are peppy..I know that much !

Thanks. The Cad was a low mile '95 Sedan Deville insurance total at the local yard. Since I wanted the whole engine platform complete they made me a good deal. The motor is going into an early Lumina Coupe with some mild body mods. The motor will stay pretty much stock since you can't get a lot for the 4.9, I may slip a mild Crane or Comp Cams regrind in it, haven't decided for sure yet. It will also get a reprogrammed chip for the PCM, cold air intake, performance exhaust system from the Y-pipe back and some suspension goodies and heavy duty brakes. You can see a photoshop mock up of the Lumina in my photo album here.

I wanted something with a little leg room, decent ride and handling that not a lot of people modify and it had to have a V-8 so it would run and sound halfway decent. It also had to be able to serve as a daily driver in a pinch. I think this should meet that criteria. I had a new '94 Lumina Euro and I loved it, my 1st wife never was crazy about it but she didn't let that stop her from taking it with her...............

Sounds cool !I'd like to see some pics when it's finished .It's never crossed my mind to do a FWD swap.I might try that sometime .Right now,I'm still trying to decide what I want to do with my Ranger .Oh well..I'm not gonna touch it until I get a half-*** idea of what I want to do so I don't mess it up.
