CAD program

Some time back someone here posted a link to an online machine shop that offered a free CAD program so customers could create designs to be machined by them. Somehow my copy became seriously corrupted after I switched hard drives and now, try as I might, I can not find the site or that link. I would like to find it again or better yet a more complete program to buy that is not a rip-off. Every program I have seen for sale (unless they cost hundreds of dollars) claim to be complete and sound great when reading the sales pitch however upon installing the software it is usually discovered that most, or all that I have found, require additional software that will cost hundreds before the program is truly usable. That free one I am looking for is quite limited but it is as good as or better than anything I have found for less $100 and it is usable, actually better than those rip-off programs that just sucker in the customer and try to trap them into buying additional software to make the thing work!
