Question Caddy engine accesories

I just received an old 1980 caddy deville totaled with a good engine and tranny in it, the engine is a 386 big block and I was wondering were I can find good performance parts and a good rebuild kit for it but I am having difficulty finding anyone that makes any of this, so if you have ever worked on or had the some experience with this type of engine please give me some advice and let me know were I can get good parts.

The 368 is a bastard motor of the family. It only has a 3.800" bore. By comparison, a 305 has a 3.736" bore. If you are doing a rebuild, find something else. A 425/472/500 would be much better to start with. If the motor runs OK now, you can do the basic hop up like any other motor. Free flow exhaust, recurve ignition, free up the intake, etc. You are stuck with the 368 heads and intake. They have smaller ports than a 425/472/500 and a port mis-match will happen. The stock aluminum intake can be ported. A TBI intake converted to a carb seems to work the best. Dan
