Cadillac 390 starter
 

Hey guys. I'm building a 39 Ford. I picked up a 40 Ford rolling chassis that already has a 390 Caddy motor in it. I like the nostalgia setup. The engine is clean as a whistle and I'm gonna stick with it. My question is, does anyone know if a newer gear reduction starter will work? I was recently at a car show that a guy had the same engine in a Model A. Unfortunately I was unable to find the owner. He had a newer model starter on it. Does anyone have any ideas. I work at a local parts store and am able to try different ones but that could take forever. Thanks in advance.
