Cadillac 4T80E Trans

Hi Guys:
Got an interesting one for you. I'm in the process of building a new car using the Northstar and 4T80E trans. However, I need to turn the engine and trans around 180 degrees so the engine is behind the trans. That means I need to reverse the final drive in the trans so the wheels turn in the right direction. Any ideas on who might be able to do this?

Due to the design of the transmission, I don't think you are going to be able to reverse it WITHIN the transmission.

Reversing the rotation of the motor won't work either as the 3 pumps inside the transmission won't work if the rotation is reversed.

That leaves only one ugly option. Reverse both output shafts between the transmission and the wheels.

4t80e trans

Hey the 4t80e has a final drive on the end of the case you could swap it easily if you found a rev drive dif and ring gear. The passenger side of trans comes off like a regular tailhousing inside there is one bolt on a tube take that loose and the tube comes out like a cane be nice on the r&r of this it has to seal twice one on each end and the one is way up in there have to teardown to replace it if torn.then one snap ring on the ring gear for diff. slides out make sure to match the teeth for gear ratio the computer might act up if its wrong, but the theory that your trying is cool i dont think it cares which way it goes !
