cadillac cts seats

So on Speed tonight on the show Chop Cut Rebuild they were talking about using CTS seats because it had the integrated shoulder belt.

I see some on the famous auction site but has anyone ever used these on their rod?

They originally had electric tilt, and heated seats, Can you just hook these up to a dedicated circuit or do you have to have the computer controller?

Just looking for ideas.

Thanks and Happy Fourth!

These seats should be able to be hooked up to a dedicated circuit. You only need basic power to run the linear actuators and any heating units. You will, I think, need a 4 wire connection to accomplish this. That's the limit of my expertise on power seats! You might want to post in the electrical section of the bulletin board for better answers to your electrical concerns. Do you have any pictures of your '39 Plymouth?

Thanks Dan,
I guess my question was more concerning using them instead of wiring them up. Having heated seats is nice but the least of my worries.

Does anyone else use seats with integrated shoulder belts?

Pictures are coming as we dig it out.

The CTS seats are amazing. If you get your hands on a good set, I would pick them up.

If you want to stay "MOPAR" you might wan tto have a look at some Sebring convertible seats. They are similar to the CTS seats and have the seatbelt integrated also. But no, I haven't actually seen anyone retrofit some yet.

The down side of the CTS seats is that they don't fold forward to access anything in the back of the car. The Sebring, however, is a two door car and the seats fold forward.

That's very true, and something that should be considered before putting seats in a 2 door car, but there are also ways to address this problem when mounting the seats in the car. Brackets that allow the seats to tip forward are available, or can be made, and if the seats are powered, it is possible to get plenty of clearance to access the rear seat just by moving the seat forward. It's not the best way to go, but if you really like the seats, it could be tolerated.

Thanks everyone for the commentary.
The plan is to stay as MOPAR (no SBC or MII front end) as possible but exceptions for safety are a given.

In a coupe it might not be that big of a deal with the no-fold-down seats but will compare them with a Sebring none the less.

Thanks again for the ideas.

Are the GTO seats similar to the CTS seats? The GTO is a 2 door.
