over here in europe there are sone seriously fast front wheel drive cars, made with homewelded turbo manifolds, used turbos and ingenuity. i have a 1.3L vw engine that i am welding a turbo manifold (just couldnt leave it alone) it will put out 175 hp at 16psi of boost, and the cost is less than a 1000 bucks for the conversion. if you have some cash to spend you can build a mean 300HP saturn without breaking the bank. but you have to know what you are doing, be good at it and know what the project involves before committing to it

if you want i can send some pics of how to weld a manifold for a turbo, calculate what turbo to buy and what boost to run, and how to build a cheap waterinjection system. just drop me a line at jakob@regeur.dk
