Hello, I want to put mid90 Cadillac taillights in an 86 Elcamino, anyone have an idea how to do this. I saw an article in a hot rod magazine years ago on how to do this but I can't find it now!! Can someone help me in this effort or can steer me to a plae for help.
Go to a salvage yard and find the caddy you with to take the tails and remove at least 1" of steel around the tail in a rectagular patch panel. This will give you the tail light, correct buckets, mounting and anything else you need. Take them home, remove the same shape from the rear of the elky, weld in the patch bucket and any other patch panels you may need to add do some metal finishing and smoothing prime and paint. Run the wires, mount the light and llense and you have yourself a elkaddy! If you need further help feel free to ask.
