calipers and rotor size

I am rebuilding and re-manufacturing the front end of my old British Bentley. I have installed
some caliper brackets to suit and have installed rotors to suit the hub spindle. I have used GM truck rotors and with the right bearings these rotors fit without alteration

PROBLEM encountered...the rotor is approximately 1 5/16 thick, due to space limitations I
cannot install the truck caliper and would like to use a smaller size GM caliper, these units fit the caliper bracket and give me suitable clearance. I have tried a couple of calipers and the fit o.k. but the opening for the rotor and pads is too small. Is there a small size GM caliper that has an opening of at least
2 1/2 inches. Or the pads I have are approximately 3/8 inch thick less the metal backing plate. Total thickness 5/8 inch...... Is there a thinner pad I could use.

I know I could machine the rotor and shave the pads but I would like to use unmodified off the
shelf units. Thanks to anybody who can help....Titch
