Unhappy call & go see your old friends

I learned last nite that a friend I hadnt seen in years died of a heart attack, this hits home because of my wifes heart problems. we had been friends throughout high school and for years after that. we'd go places, do things & partied together along w/other friends for years. but as time went on we kinda drifted apart like alot of us do. I had seen only a few times in the past 10 yrs or so, but had drove past his street several times a week and always wondered how he was. for what ever reason I NEVER made that turn and now it hurts & upsets me I never did,
SOOOOO to all of you PLEASE call or better yet go see some of those friends you havent seen or called in years, because you'll regret it the day that this happens, I know I do.. IF.. IF.. IF.. IF, I had only listen to my innerself and made the one turn on to his street, I would of enjoyed our friendship even more, but instead I have to dwell on what has happened and hope to God I have changed my ways..... I have friends to call & see now, because I dont want this to happen to me again. KEEP THOSE FRIENDSHIPS ALIVE...........joe

While you're at it hug your kids and tell them you love them.

Oct 6th would have been my oldest daughter's 27th birthday. We lost her at age 19 as a result of an auto accident.

You just never know, so treat every day with your loved ones as if it were your last.

I do several times a day, cause it would cut me deep if something would happen to him, as a matter of fact the son always gives both of us a hug & says "Love ya" to us before he leaves, even if he had been in trouble. gotta love that kid, cause we all know how hard it is to say that after a argument, no matter who was right or wrong....joe

As I've stated- I teach school. I've lost several students over the years. It hurts terribly and you go through feeling bad thinking about the times you had with them but maybe were not in the best mood, or had something else on your mind and maybe didn't talk as much. It has helped me to be more thankful and forgiving, yet now I see those who aren't and it bothers me. Say hello to the people you know, thank those that help and do something nice for a neighbor. Maybe then we can avoid a few more wars!!

I call and visit people all the time! Sometimes it sucks that I am the one going out of my way to stay in contact with so many people, but I like to stay in touch! Once a friend~a friend for life !

I had a similiar experience......similiar but different. It actually involved my wife. She had a good friend that she worked with and hung out with several years back. They were really good friends and had always kept up, but had drifted apart recently. The friend had been having some pretty serious problems, but we had not talked to her in a while. A couple months back I got a phone call from my wifes best friend. She said "Tell Kristy that #####(I am leaving out her name) Killed herself. She shot herself" That simple........you are never prepared to hear that....TRUST ME. It was hard to tell her.....to just say the words. It really tore my wife up for a while. She kept saying she wished she would have called her. She said she had thought about it, but just never picked up the phone. It was really upsetting to know that someone was so mixed up they only saw one way out. Maybe she needed a good friend.........

I think we all are guilty of not being as good a friend as we should. Call you friends once in a while. You never know what a difference you could make.

Never Know What You Got Till You Lose It. . .

When I was 19, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer and surgically removed 'ol righty. Blood tests later revealed that the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes in my abdomen which is curable by a nasty surgery and mild chemo drugs, OR regular strength chemo drugs. I chose the regular chemo.

For 4 straight months, I had no energy to do anything. Walking up and down stairs was sometimes difficult. Food tasted like metal. I was constantly nauseous. And I had to give myself a shot every morning to help boost my white blood cells to fight infections.

Every other day, a friend or two would stop in and chat, watch TV, play playstation, or just sit there and watch me sleep and talk to my folks.

I have now been in remission for 5 years and think back on what I had been though. I am grateful for the friends I have and their support, and I try to let them know any chance I get.
