i have a 383 small block chevy, that i am rebuilding. i talked with summit tech and they recommended a comp cca-12-655-5. my car is a 72 camaro with 4.10 gears, turbo 350 dart iron eagle heads with 215 cc intake runners. i don't know the valve size. but i think they are big. but my ? is, is this cam going to be a problem with a street, strip car? and can some one give me a stall recomendiation? thanks..... Jason.
That cam will want a 4500-5000 stall for max performance. It will want more than a 4.10 gear also. It wants to rev 4000-7000rpm
If that is a bit much for ya, go with a Isky #201534 A little tamer beast.
Lots of torque install 4deg advanced on a 102 in C/L. Needs a 10" 3500-3800 stall. The 4.10's are fine, with the smaller Isky cam.
Use 1.6 rockers and good valve springs.
