Which cam grind? Tight or loose lash?

I'm currently deciding on a new solid flat-tappet cam for my 454. I'm currently deciding between two different grinds, one Competition Cams and one Crower. The Comp cam calls for a valve lash of .016 hot and the Crower calls for .020 and .024 hot. With duration and lift being equal, would it be better to go with the tighter lash cam. If I understand correctly, the larger lash would likely be a little bit noisier (that doesn't bother me), but what concerns me is the larger lash hammering the valves. I would figure that Crower has taken this into account with the opening and closing ramps, but I'm looking for opinions or experience. Any comments?
