Jason look at these dyno results from Comp Cams and the manifold vacuum results. XE268H-10, Camshaft Part#12-242-2 Dyno Sheet

The comp High energy HE 268H-10 #12-210-2 is a really good cam. If you want a bit more lumpy idle
custom order this camshaft ground on a 108LSA. (install on a 104 Intake C/L.)
268-268 218-218 108LSA 104in 112 ex centers .454" .454" lift.

1.60:1 rockers is a option

This makes the idle a bit more aggressive without getting carried away
and adds more mid range torque/power with headers and good exhaust.

All you need to do is pick up the phone and call comp cams and custom order.
You will have a really good cam just right for your purpose.

Another cam you will really like is the very similar off the shelf Isky 270H Mega cam
Isky #201271 270-270 221-221 @.050" 108LSA .465" lift
Again verify 104in 112ex installed centers.

Thanks

Thanks for all the help. I just ordered the Comp Cams 268 HE .454 lift. I think this will keep me right in my powerband and run all my power accesories with no problem. I can always use my 1.6 rockers if I feel I want to, but I think the .454 lift will be plenty with the 492 heads !
