First the story. I had 2 lifters that didn't seem to want to adjust right so I decided to pull the intake off and replace the whole set. Well to my surprise, when I popped off the intake the first thing that I noticed was that the lifters were not riding directly on the lobes, but were almost half way off. When I pulled to two lifters in question out I discovered that their seats were ground through. Needless to say the cam is also wasted. I realize that I'll be replacing both the cam and the lifters but my question is this.
Will I be able to adjust where my cam sits in the block with something like a block protector needle bearing set or something like that? What other choices do I have?
