CAM + Quench Questions
383 w/Dart Iron Eagle Heads 64cc. SP pistons -12cc. .040 head gasket presently. I'm installing a solid roller .567 / 242 dur @.50. Cam is asking for more compression as mine is 9.67 now. Thinking of a .015 steel shim gasket or flat milling heads about .025 puts me around 10.27.
Cam is 110LSA, ICL is 106 -duh! if I install straight up does this mean I will be at 106 CL or do I advance to achieve 106. 106 is where I want to install. Any thoughts bout compression is appreciated. I don't know about QUENCH with these pistons, I assumed dished pistons were for controlling detonation. I will measure quench later today when I get heads off. THANKS! |

You install straight up, dot to dot on the gears. The advance is ground into the cam.
