cam question

i got a cam from a friend on mine he says its out of a sbc 350 most likely a 80's. i just wanna figure out what it is cause i cant seem to be able to.
-on one end it has the stampings:1579, and c7, d7, cwc
-on the other end it has 30,and fo any help is great thanks

IMO... used "mystery" cams belong in the scrap pile!

You will need to buy NEW lifters anyway, unless your friend went to the trouble to number or arrange them in such a way that guarantees that every lifter goes back on it's exact same cam lobe. You just plain cannot re-use old lifters any other way.

$100.00 will buy you a brand new "Summit" brand cam and lifter kit

Speaking of uses for old camshafts:

I think I'm going to paint my screwed-up camshaft with gold spray-paint, then wire it onto a nicely finished oak with gold wire ...

Then hang it on the wall in the garage as a reminder of what happens when you don't do things properly!
