Question Cam question

Hi there.

I have a problem to find out that what my camshaft really is. I got this roller cam from a friend like many years ago and even he didn't know what it is. He just knows that it's for SB chevy and that what it looks to me too when comparing it to original hydraulic lifter cams. So the lobes tells me that it is roller cam and rest of it looks is for SB chevy, but how the heck I'm gonna know what it is?

In the rear of the cam there is like stamped letters. Like these:

6G2A and 0323 SS CCD

and in the front (where the gears come) are (like grinded and a bit harder to see) markings like these:

300-2
308-4
R14

and then one of the grinds could be I7669 and one mark looks like two C letters on top of each other. One friend thought that maybe that's some sort Comp Cams mark??? But I said that it also could come from Crane Cams

So if someone really knows these chevy SB things, please could you give me a little help?

Thanks for now
Jare from Finland

You can send it to a cam grinder and they can check it out for you?I have done this when shipping was cheaper but it still will be cheaper than a new roller if it checks out ok?

I think you may have the details you need there, some of those look like duration figures. I'd e everthing you've got posted to both the cam companies you mentioned and they can probably help you out.

Looks like Comp Cams grind 12-704-8 It's a solid roller grind for using a blower. Duration @.05 is 255 intake 262 exhaust. .575 lift on both intake and exhaust. 114 lobe separation. The lash is .02 on both intake and exhaust.
