Cam selection
Hi guys,
I have a 386 CI engine that I will be soon putting in my 4 speed (manual) vette with 3.38 gears. It has iron heads with big valves, 11.5 compression, 850 double pumper, headers, victor air gap intake and 1.52 hydraulic rocker arm. I am looking for a high cam with good overall power band. I car won't be seeing the track and it will be a weekend driver. Also I will soon replace the heads with aluminum heads (AFR or Brodix). Which cam should I go with? Your help is greatly appreciated. If it were me, I would replace the heads first to get the compression down to a pump gas friendly 9.6 or 10 to 1. Then, choose a cam that suits your driving needs afterwards. But, thats just me. Anyone else?

A good set of heads would be a good start for cam selection. That CR is awful high for street fuel.
