Question Which cam should I use

I need a little help choosing a cam. I was recently given a 350 out of an 80's model vette and the motor is pretty much stock with about 50,000 miles on it. I'm not gonna rebuild it right now but I did lap the valves and change the valve seals since it was smoking on start up. I picked up a Holley Street Dominator intake and I'm gonna go with a Summit brand cam or a comp cam but I'm not sure which one will go best with this intake (I dont know much about cams). I know bigger is not always better but I wanna go as big as I can and still drive it everyday. My carb is an Edelbrock 650 and I'll also be using headers. The tranny is a TH350 and I'm gonna use the stock converter. If you need more info let me know. The motor will be going in my 86 Silverado (<---That one over there).

Thanks in advance,
C10

Nice looking truck! I'd stick with a cam that holley recommends. If you don't want to go that route than a comp cam high energy cams work well on stock 1.25 springs and give a great lumpy sound. Call any cam company, tell them what you want, what you got, and they will give you you're best bet.stay under 280 Ad. and 480" lift.

What gears and rear tire dia??
If you have highway gears I'd go w/ the summit K1102.If you have 3.42+ go K1103 or K1104.I think that motor is only 8.5:1 or 9:1 so I wouldn't get to nutz. All these cams should work w/ a stock converter.I've used all three and had good performance.

As far as brand I personaly would trust summit over com.As I've seen a few summits w/ good quality and have heard bad things about Comp.

Get a cam w/ usable RPMs.If you have highway gears you on't want a cam that revs 6500rpm you'll never see that on the street or strip. And vis vers i you got say 4.11s you won't want a cam that only revs to 4000 you'll wind out quick.
