Ya know,if you focus on the intake side to keep your power where you want it,speaking of duration, and increase the exhaust duration a bunch,you get a nice boomy sound without it choking out and shaking the rig,cubes make a difference on the way it sounds and runs a lot,but as an example a lot of older guys Ive built stuff for that aren't looking to race,a couple of cams Ive used that they really boast about are the summit 214/224 and the 224/234 depending on what they're after.
