Cam stuff and your thoughts

Here's what I have. 83 pontiac g body wagon. Engine in the making, 350 Chevy. Parts on hand: 600 Holley, Performer intake, Lunati Bracketmaster 2 cam 00016 with specs--.458 lift intake and exhaust 218 @.050 intake and exhaust. LSA 110, 284 degrees duration intake/exhaust. 1 5/8 long tube headers. 350 transmission and am looking at 3.42/3.73 for gears. Not building a racecar but something for the family to ride around in. A/C will be here also.
I'm going to use this cam but can some one tell me if there is any "lope" to this thing? Also, it's ground with 4 degrees advance. What would retarding this cam 4 degrees do? I also thought about using 1.6 rockers on the exhaust but was told on another site that if I did to be sure and slot the push rod holes in the heads. I'm building it like the factory did, one piece at a time.
What are your thoughts on this combination?
Remember, If you bought it you own it. If you built it, it's yours.
Thanks for all your input. <><

Should have a very slight lope but will idle very well. I used a cam simialr to that with an automatic transmission and had no problem with idle at all.

That cam will have a very slite idle to it, Key word very. I have run cams with 235@.050 in daily drivers with no issues so you will be fine... Don't bother with the 1.6 rockers they will do nothing in your application....

Thanks for the comments. I'm interested in throttle response and torque. The transmission will be a 350C so I might even get some decent highway mileage. Still, I'd like it and my gray hair to surprise a kid or two at a stoplight! I just never seemed to get over that.
